Our Story
We’ve had the privilege of transforming the lives of countless young people, equipping them with essential tools, skills, and knowledge to chart their paths toward long-term growth and success.
From a place of concern, curiosity, and questioning, Charity sought to understand why she was at the university beyond academics. She realized that if she wasn’t in a lecture hall, she was usually in the comfort of her room or at church on Sundays. Uncertain about the options available to her on campus, she decided to find purpose in the moment and help other students like herself make the most of the university community.
From 2017 to 2020, while discovering her “why,” she started Smiling Hour in her second semester as a level 100 student at KNUST. Her mentor, Mr. Stefan Danquah, presented her with the opportunity to hold a summit for first-year students of the ministry she fellowshipped with. Within those four years, she impacted the lives of over 200 young people within the university through her summit on the theme “The University: A Potential Market for Personal, Social, Career, Spiritual, and Leadership Development.”
She also made a difference in the lives of countless others beyond the university as she served as a mentor to many young girls. Alongside other guests and experts she invited to these sessions, she continued to inspire and empower. By 2023, she had expanded her vision to travel Africa and the world with diverse relief projects that would inspire a more hopeful future for generations born and unborn.
Through local and international partnerships, Smiling Hour is excited to connect with: The Rural Child, who deserves equal opportunities to take up space, belong, and shine. The Girl Child, who will become a leader and changemaker. Junior High, Senior High, University and Graduate students navigating the ups and downs of education and young adulthood.

As an Inspirational Leader and writer, I’m passionate about empowering other young people, to identify and harness their hidden strengths and talents, overcome self-imposed barriers, develop skills and abilities to achieve greater success, and to realize one’s aspirations and goals.
